Musculoskeletal and Sports

Physiotherapy for Pain and Sports Injuries

The musculoskeletal system gives shape, support, dependability and development to the body.  It is comprised of the bones, muscles, ligaments, joints and other connective tissue that binds tissues and organs together.  We often place our musculoskeletal system under huge amounts of pressure, especially if we do certain activities repeatedly or take part in strenuous activity like heavy lifting or some sports. When the activities go beyond what your musculoskeletal system can cope with this can lead to pain and or injury. It is worth seeing one of our physiotherapists for one of our MOTs which involves having an assessment of your musculoskeletal system and having any underlying issues preventing these pains and injuries from happening in the first place.

However when you do feel pain or have an injury in Singapore it is even more important to start the physiotherapy asap as the longer things are left the longer it takes to resolve.

Musculoskeletal and Sports Physiotherapy with Health2u includes an examination of your musculoskeletal system.  Then your physio will then be able to use a number of skills that can include manual therapy,  acupuncture, sports massage and design a rehabilitation programme to aid your recovery.

How Does The Physiotherapist Work With A Sport Injury?

A physiotherapist from Health2u specialising in sports injuries first diagnoses the sports injury having listened to how it happened and then performing several specific tests.  This will determine whether the injury has affected a muscle, ligament, tendon or joint.   They will devise a recovery plan that can include a number of treatments such as sports massage, rehabilitation exercise, manual therapy, dietary plans and more. The aim being to get you back to the playing the sport you love painfree.  We have an awesome physitrack exercise programme via an app and email that can provide you with your own individualised exercises with easy to follow videos that you can watch through your phone, tablet or computer.
