Baby Massage

One on One & Baby Massage

Baby massage with Health2mama is carried out by one of our physiotherapists experienced in working with babies. We offer One on one sessions anytime, group baby massage classes and also group baby massage classes at mums homes, schools or other venues.  Baby massage aims to encourage parent-child bonding whilst improving sleep, digestion, circulation and weight gain. Just as effective with Mum or Dad. During the session, parents will learn all the necessary skills required to give their baby massages at home.

What is Baby Massage?

Baby Massage is a gentle and rhythmical stroking of your baby using an oil or moisturiser to help with the gliding of the hands.  The movements of the hands over the skin helps to stimulate the production of the feel-good loving feeling hormone experienced when holding your baby close or breastfeeding them.

How Does The Baby Massage Benefit My Baby?

There are a number of benefits for a baby to have a baby massage which can include:

  • improved sleep
  • improve digestion and ease constipation
  • help your baby stay relaxed and not get upset
  • reduce crying and fussing
  • improve weight gain
  • enhancing the bond between you and your baby
  • improve circulation
  • improve babies proprioception and recognition of their body
  • help your babies mental, social and physical development

When can a baby massage start?

Baby massage is suitable from newborn to 9 months. Before 4 weeks old we advise baby massage at home as a class situation can be a bit overwhelming for some babies and difficulties arise when trying to get to class on time.

When is the best time for baby massage?

The best time is when your baby is in their calm-alert state.  This is when they have been awake for a short period and have been fed and comfortable.  In this state they will be responsive and content and gain the most from the experience.

At Health2mama we offer Baby massage at home as well as Baby Massage as part of our Baby Sensory & Play Class held in the City and Sentosa.

Carried out in the comfort of your own home for just yourself or a small group so that you will not need to worry about the hassle and cost of travelling anywhere. Our physiotherapist can visit you at the time you know your baby will be in their calm-alert state helping both you (or partner) and your baby get the most out of the baby massage. We also allow extra time so if your baby needs a feed or cuddle during the session this is not a problem.

Price – $130 (30-45 minutes)

We can also provide Baby Massage for small groups at a location that is convenient for you.

Price – $130 divided between 2-6 people (30-45 minutes)

Baby Massage Class Workshops

Our popular baby massage workshops are offered to groups of mums at their home and to parents and teachers at schools.  All that is required is a comfortable area for the babies to lie on and towels. Our baby massage workshops will involve leading a baby massage class workshop clearly demonstrating the different massage stroke techniques that can be used helping to acquire the hands on part right and at the same understanding how they can help the babies development.  Also free access to our baby massage app described below will be given to any attendees as we all know that its hard to remember everything learnt in a class.
